Job Summary
Plans at a strategic/tactical level and manages the effective use of resources and directs assigned staff to design, develop, maintain, and implement major, highly complex system(s) and/or project(s) supporting a business and/or technology area.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures alignment of business delivery to business and IT strategies and priorities. Accountable for delivery of Business Intelligence capability leveraging Business Intelligence and information delivery best practices. Contributes significantly to the development of the IT strategic business intelligence technology plans. Accountable for all aspects of the project life cycle applied to the BI technology delivery using our standard technologies including: Teradata, Cognos, Ab Initio and new technologies including Hadoop and big data technologies, advanced analytics technologies including IBM Watson, SAS, R and Python. Works closely with business users to define and refine solutions. Responsible for having broad knowledge of Business Intelligence products and tools and for developing technology strategy on products and tools to utilize within Travelers. Works with other divisional and enterprise areas on tool selection, best practices, alignment with technologies and approaches. Collaborates with Information Architect to ensure appropriate solutions are designed. Collaborates with IT team members to implement solutions and ensure on-going support and maintenance. Accountable for leadership and support and development of team members and management of consulting partners to effectively leverage resources and talent to maximize solution stability and cost effectiveness.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelors Degree in Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering or equivalent education or 8 years experience in business intelligence delivery or related field required.
