Our office in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Head of Life Regulatory Services who will be responsible for assuring company compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, directives, rulings and court decisions regarding the business of insurance, particularly individual life insurance and annuities. Assures that the company conducts its business with proper market conduct and disclosure, a sense of fair-play, integrity, and that employees are informed and in compliance on legal and other issues relevant to business operations.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for creating and maintaining compliance testing and internal auditing functions of pertinent Amica Life departments, especially those with direct communication with external customers and reporting to management on the results.
• Identifies key compliance “risk areas” to reduce regulatory exposure, including the reporting of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) data on a quarterly basis.
• Coordinates the completion, analysis and reporting of Market Conduct Annual Statement (MCAS) data to the NAIC; the managing of state market conduct exams, “desk audits”, and other miscellaneous regulatory requests for company data and business practices.
• Responsible for policy form development and revisions; filing and maintenance of such forms with the IIPRC and state insurance departments.
• Reviews all marketing, solicitation and advertising materials to assure compliance with state practices, laws and regulations.
• Investigates and provides resolution of complaints and inquiries from customers and state regulatory agencies. Oversees the maintenance of the complaint log and reports to states and senior management as necessary.
• Responsible for appointing and licensing activities for all life sales representatives and internal employees as needed.
• Serves as the company's “Division Records Manager”, and represents the company of the Records Retention Task Force.
• Coordinates and oversees compliance with the completion of anti-money laundering (AML) training for all affected life employees. Reviews and reports to senior management when necessary, any potential AML violations and necessary Red Flag Reports.
• Primary contact with state insurance and other regulatory officials.
• Represents the company with regards to the American Council of Life Insurance (ACLI), the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals (AICP), the Life & Health Compliance Association (LHCA), the Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society (IRES), and the Life Insurance Marketing Research Association (LIMRA).

Job Requirements:

• Expertise in legal and/or regulatory compliance areas
• FLMI, AIRC, CLU or equivalent education/training/experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong management, organizational and research skills
• Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Office
• 10+ years experience with a life insurance company
