Our office located in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Senior Purchasing Specialist to join our Corporate Services - Purchasing Team. The selected candidate will be responsible for negotiating and purchasing goods and services from suppliers.


Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Procure goods and services in accordance with Corporate Purchasing Policies
• Prepares and solicits complex and/or high value Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
• Handles RFQ & RFP evaluation and vendor selection process to ensure award recommendation considers quality risk, cost, value, and legal/procedural compliance
• Coordinates Legal, Financial, and IT Reviews
• Conducts/facilitates supplier negotiations as appropriate
• Drafts/modifies contracts, services agreements, and amendments in accordance with negotiated terms, conditions, pricing and service requirements
• Handles contract renewal process in accordance with contract administration guidelines
• Manages contracts and programs to ensure contracted pricing, service levels and agreed upon terms and conditions are being honored by suppliers
• Evaluates programs and pricing to achieve ongoing cost reductions and efficiencies
• Keeps abreast of market and industry trends
• Works independently, referring issues to a higher authority as appropriate
• Acts as liaison for internal customers and suppliers
• May be called upon to handle other duties as required


Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree (business major) or 3-5 years relevant experience
• Expert knowledge of procurement strategies, procedures and best practices
• Expert knowledge of Purchasing/Contract Management systems
• Knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft e-Procurement tool
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Expert at writing complex RFQs & RFPs
• Solid analytical, organizational and negotiation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team environment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting all deadlines
