The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking career-minded individuals for our Oracle EBS Database Administrator opportunity in Costa Mesa, CA.
Database Administrator has experiences with Oracle Database Administration and Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration. The DBA needs to have some background in Oracle E-Business Suite systems (Oracle Financials) with the ability to participate in all phases of project including analysis, coding, data migration (Extract Transform Load), testing and deployment. Works under minimum direction with complete understanding of database technical principles. Duties: Install and configure Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server DBMS software. Perform database software upgrades and patches. Synchronize production and test environments (Cloning application and databases) using Oracle EBS cloning technology. Provide technical support to difficult Oracle application and database problems. Troubleshoot Oracle applications and databases, resolving errors where necessary by applying patches. Offer thorough, practical solutions to ensure that the system is functioning according to specifications. Ensure high availability, backup and recovery of production databases using Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server related database technology for data availability and recovery. Maintain database operation, including performing maintenance to minimize disruptions to users. Perform database performance tuning, planning, configuration, scaling, and capacity management under guidance.
Successful candidates have the following qualifications:
4 year college degree in related field or equivalent experience; Technologist certification a plus5 or more years of Oracle DBA experiences & working experience with Microsoft SQL Servers. DBMS experiences in multiple platforms, including DB2/UDB, Teradata, MySQL, strong pluses. Track record in performance optimization and high availability/disaster recovery. General technical background of the HW/SW platform on which the application and DBMS operates. General knowledge of the application and system architecture an understanding of business processes and the databases they access, and the flow of information between processes. Ability to discuss database and data management techniques and capabilities with both technical and business audiences. Create technical operations documentation with limited guidance. Ability to apply DBMS principle and theory to other related disciplines.
