DescriptionCore competencies include ability to manage Program Underwriting, and Lines of Business, from every aspect to include Production, Profit and Quality. Manage agents thru training, quality assurance and adherence to all company guidelines and requirements. To provide direction, guidance, and underwriting expertise to program business, in particular the PEO and Temp Staffing programs.This takes place through referrals, phone conversations, agency visits, customer visits, file reviews, and audits. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, and underwriting and processing experience. Impact profitability and growth of programs as follows:
  • Manage company objectives and specific program/managing producer initiatives.
  • Handle larger and more complex risks in terms of underwriting, reviewing, approving & declining referrals sent in by agents.
  • Monitor production, profitability, and underwriting integrity of business being written
  • Develop & maintain program guidelines, procedures, and policies.
  • Adhere to corporate guidelines and processes; provide direction and assistance to Managing Producer Agents to assure their compliance with corporate and program requirements.
  • Develop industry knowledge and track trends specific to each program.
  • Assist, and/or conduct file reviews, and periodic audits on partner agent books of business.
  • Cultivate relationships within AmTrust and with Managing Agents.
  • Assist, lead if necessary, in the development, due diligence, and market research with regard to new program opportunities

    Position Requirements+

    Education+ Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
  • Industry designation such as CPCU/CIC a plus or working toward them +

    Experience+ 5 to 10+ years' experience as a commercial underwriter; large account underwriting a plus
  • Strong knowledge of class codes and premium audit processes
  • Specialization in a line of business may be required due to the specific position
  • Knowledge of program underwriting practices
