Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creation and execution of Employee Benefits Strategic Plan for each client in assigned book of business
  • Provide strategic oversight for administrative services for assigned clients
  • Contribute to growth and profitability by expanding lines of coverage within existing book of business
  • Analyze claims data, renewal information, and budget forecasting and provide meaningful recommendations
  • Perform contribution strategy modeling
  • Participate in finalist meetings with potential customers
  • Provide effective and meaningful benefit consultation for plan revisions, managed care strategies, product development, policy and procedure changes, legislative changes, and claim cost control
  • Validate and maintain the integrity of benefit plans and provide consistent feedback to the responsible functional areas in this regard
  • Ensure timely delivery of customer communications
  • Communicate RFP expectations to marketing department
  • Complete and update commissions review documents
  • Provide superior customer service to all internal and external clients
  • Serve as resource and role model to Account Managers and cross-functional team members
  • Respond to external and internal requests for management information
  • Facilitate and lead effective business meetings with the client and with internal Axion associates (including C-suite)
  • Serve as final peer review for all client open enrollment materials
  • Seek leadership roles and orchestrate the completion of special projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of Employee Benefits Account Management experience within a corporate environment
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Illinois Life/Health Insurance License
  • Ability to travel (approximately 15% of the time; Midwestern territory)

  • Understanding of Health Care Reform
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Financial acumen
