NSM Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Claims Consultant to join our Claims team. The role is based out of our Conshohocken, PA office.

  • Proactive management of assigned Program claims which are handled by TPA’s
  • Management of assigned Program claims and tracking of claim trends
  • Provide feedback to Claims Director and Program Directors of any emerging trends
  • Be a resource for agents/brokers by responding to questions on coverage, claim status, and claim handling
  • Day to day oversight of TPA’s which includes granting reserve/settlement authority and monitoring their adherence to our Account Instructions
  • Participate in periodic file reviews
  • Conduct file audits to monitor TPA’s compliance with Account Instructions, and make sure that claims are being handled appropriately, and are on track
  • Create monthly loss reports for assigned Programs
  • Provide status to Underwriters on claims prior to policy renewal
  • Forward new losses to TPA’s and/or insurers, as needed
  • Provide support, as requested, for Claims Manager and Director of Claims within the Claims Dept
  • Act as a mentor and trainer for others in the Claims Dept


  • 3-5 years Workers Compensation claims adjuster experience
  • Multi-jurisdictional experience (Work Comp claims handling for multiple States)
  • Strong technical knowledge of Workers Compensation laws and requirements for multiple States
  • Strong knowledge of steps necessary to move Workers Compensation files to conclusion
  • Ability to recognize when a Workers Compensation file is not being handled as well as it could be
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are essential
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel, and ability to use Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Supervisory skills, for overseeing work comp claims handled by outside TPA’s, including the ability to formulate and deliver directives (both written and verbal) to the adjusters and supervisors at the TPA’s in furtherance of faster file closures and better overall file results
  • Ability to train work comp adjusters and other support staff at the TPA’s
  • Team-player
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25%+ of each month
