Job Description

This role will lead parts of the strategic transformation of the Enterprise Testing and Release Management (ETRM) operating model. This leader will lead the evolution of the testing services teams that support the following software product development areas: Emerging Businesses (Roadside, Benefits, Connected Car, Dealer Services, Ivantage, etc.), Enterprise Shared Services, Information Services Group, PMO, and Infrastructure Services.

Additionally this leader will have responsibility for ETRM teams focused on the environments in which testing is performed inclusive of an integrated Enterprise Test Environment where over 250 of our critical systems are tested in an orchestrated and highly automated manner.

This leader will be accountable for identifying and achieving long term strategies while managing nearer term objectives. This person will also be accountable for integrating the various testing services team's strategies and roadmaps with ATSV and ETRM-wide Strategy and Standards roadmaps to accelerate and drive efficiencies in the delivery of ETRMs services.

This role will require a high degree of interaction and interdependencies with the Officers across ATSV, in both the Divisional CIO (Software Product Development) Organizations and the shared technology support functions, such as Infrastructure Services, Architecture and the Project/Program Management Office.

This position will be responsible for leading multiple functions and teams spread across Allstate North America (Northbrook and other locations), Allstate Northern Ireland (Belfast and London/Derry), and Allstate India(Bangalore and Pune) in addition to 3rd party onshore/offshore vendor resources while ensuring that standards, processes and services delivered support the global operating model, enabling team members in North America, Northern Ireland, and Allstate India to collaborate and contribute equally.

This position reports to the Vice President, Enterprise Testing and Release Management and is a critical strategic leadership position leading one of the two Testing Services areas. This leader will have approximately 7 Direct Reports and approximately 200 team members globally.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will preferably have 20 years of experience or a proven accelerated progression demonstrating elevated levels of responsibility in: Software Development/Information Technology functions including leadership experience in one or more of Quality Assurance, Software Engineering, Environment Management, Software Development Engineering in Test(SDET), Test Automation, Agile Product Development, Program and Portfolio Management. This individual will also have experience in key technology business partnership roles, successful performance as a leader of leaders, experience leading a significant IT change initiative in an enterprise environment, experience influencing others as a catalyst for advancing rapid transformation in order to keep up with the pace of change in technology, successful navigation in an environment with multiple delivery methods and evolving methodologies (e.g. waterfall, agile, Extreme Programming), systems delivery experience in a high tech or highly consumer oriented industry, and experience working with globally diverse teams across multiple time zones.

An undergraduate and / or graduate degree in IT/Computer Science/ Engineering is preferred.
