AAA is seeking a career-minded individual for our Applications Developer (JAVA, Web Services, and GuideWire Claim Center) opportunity in Coppell, TX.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for the following.

Position requirements:

Evaluate a requestor's needs or specifications and translate them into a conceptual, logical and physical set of architectural models and deliveries. Select which standards will be applied to a solution. Define how systems will be structured and constructed. Ensure architecture alignment with current and future business priorities and directives. Advise, consult, participate and/or lead application prototypes and proof of concepts in support of application development projects. Leverage technology advances through tactical and strategic technology solutions, reference architectures, frameworks and components. Perform business impact and cost/benefit analysis of different architectures and assist in developing business cases for projects. Collaborate with and mentor application teams in creation of a solution architecture involving application patterns, frameworks, composition, inter-intra communications, data access and delivery, technology platform validation, reporting and capacity planning. Educate technical associates in reference architectures and architectural approaches through educational meetings, staff meetings and one-on-one sessions. Ensure compliance in in-house developed, custom applications or services with control objectives to ensure continued data integrity and security and compliance with industry, internal and regulatory requirements. Work with application vendors, manage vendor relationships and influence future vendor product features. Participate capacity planning and availability planning activities. Assist in Technology Risk Assessment. Provide technical training and consultation to other members of the IT organization. Participate in the comprehensive design of the overall application architecture for complex business systems that primary utilize the Microsoft .Net framework. Code, compile and test highly complex programs or modules. Participate in the development of system internal and external design specifications. Help resolve production system problems. Coduct code walkthroughs and other technical reviews throughout project and maintenance lifecycles. Participate in the development of improved and innovative ways to utilize current system software, application system development and programming productivity aids, debugging and test tools. Investigate and recommend new methods, procedures, tools and technologies. Participate with other IT professionals to evaluate new technologies in the market and recommend cohesive direction for the IT organization.


Required / Preferred Skills:
  • Education - Four year college degree in information systems, technology or related area of computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience - Minimum five years' experience architecting, designing and deploying services or applications in the data processing industry.
  • Skills - Must be highly competent in the following areas: Java, Web Services, and SQL.
  • Additional desirable skills include GuideWire Claim Center, Java EE & JSP, XML, Tomcat, and JBOSS.
  • Candidate must meet published minimum TeckCheck assessment scores. Good verbal, written, analytical, problem solving, team work and interpersonal skills.
