DescriptionThe IT Program Manager report into IT and will focus on Specialty Risk Program business units and their key clients to ensure continual IT, Business, and Program Client alignment. Oversee and manage IT partnerships with the business units, improve structure and efficiency of program business process. Understand the business to sufficiently oversee IT priorities, communicate effectively with both the business and program client, as well as the various IT development and service units responsible for technology delivery. Lead multiple simultaneous projects toward the delivery and automation that results in data and operational integrity, automation and efficiencies, and empowers customers / business to manage business more effectively. Job Definition:
  • Program Business enabler ensuring continual Business-IT alignment.
  • Work in partnership with Program Business partners and cross-functional teams, advising them how to use information technology in order to meet business objectives or overcome problems.
  • Assist management in taking Programs from original concept through final implementation, performing IT audits to manage the partnership, control risks and influence profitability.
  • Assist management in improving the structure and efficiency of Program Business processes.
  • Understands the business sufficiently to communicate importance of projects to technology teams, as well as understand technology sufficiently to communicate complexity in simple terms.
  • Lead multiple simultaneous strategic projects toward the delivery of automation that results in operational efficiencies and empowers customers to manage business more effectively. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes and controls work activities (TTDs) of the Program.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to understand business drivers, vet out project requirements, shape the project request and formulate the cost-benefit analysis.
  • Develop and execute project management plans, manage risks, influence quality, manage stakeholder expectations and ensure prudent use of resources toward project benefits realization.
  • Assist in IT integration activities and the extension and enhancement of automated solutions.
  • Responsible for automation capabilities and IT support to fulfill internal data analytics and external compliance reporting needs.
  • Interfaces with all areas affected by Program Business, including external Program Underwriting Agents and Clients, cross-functional business units and IT divisions.
  • Assists management in successful contract performance of Programs assigned.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and reviews program deliverables.
  • Provides technical and analytical guidance to the program team.

    Position RequirementsRequirements
  • College degree required and certifications preferred across areas of information technology, project management, insurance or business administration.
  • IT experience in partnering with Program Underwriters, Warranty and Specialty Risk Programs, Managing General Agents, Wholesalers and Claims Administrator TPAs is a plus.
  • Experience managing contracts providing high-end IT solutions, including software development, data integration, data management, and data security.
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.
  • 7-plus years direct experience in overseeing design and implementation of technology solutions for an IT department, particularly data / EDI activities..
  • 7-plus years managing projects with a solid understanding of project life cycle.
  • Outstanding customer service orientation, teamwork and ability to create an entrusting environment are keys to connecting cross-functional resources to deliver business value.
  • Strong knowledge of system and application development best practices and methodologies.
  • Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development.
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles.
  • Superior understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to IT.
