A growing, national insurance carrier is seeking an experienced insurance professional to oversee a book of Excess Casualty business.  Preferred candidates will have 5-15+ years of general liability underwriting experience and a strong acumen for working with complex accounts in the admitted and/or non-admitted marketplaces.  Very competitive compensation based upon experience with bonus potential and excellent benefit package.

Key Requirements include:

·         strong background evaluating and underwriting a book of E&S General Liability business

·         Build and maintain successful relationships with the wholesale brokerage community

·         Determine and recommend acceptable pricing and terms within limits of written underwriting authority

·         Bind coverage and oversee timely issuance of policies

·         Monitor claims and loss experience

·         Conduct broker negotiations and presentation during marketing calls

·         Assist in special reports and projects

·         Maintain an awareness of industry trends and issues

·         Various other duties as assigned


• College degree or equivalent business experience
• 5-15+ years Casualty underwriting experience
• Strong math aptitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Team oriented attitude and approach
• Ability to make decisions and demonstrate initiative
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel and Word)
• Good negotiation skills
