Manage a portfolio of complex commercial liability claims, involving multiple plaintiffs or defendants, catastrophic injury cases, ensure proper coverage, establishment of reserves, extending authority, developing settlement strategies and case disposition.
Responsibilities:
Manage/Lead a Team of highly skilled technicians with commitment, enthusiasm and vision.
Provide support to Commercial Markets and communicate with other departments, especially Underwriting, to offer advise and guidance.
Participate as an instructor in seminars, conferences and workshops within and outside the Claims Department. Author communications to superiors, other departments and outside personnel on results of cases, underwriting guidance and identification of emerging trends.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent, plus 7-10 years of directly related claims experience to include handling of high exposure cases or equivalent technical claims handling experience achieved through branch office management experience.
Demonstrated ability to manage a full range of liability claim files including high exposure and more complex cases.
Ability to work well with special service accounts.
Extensive knowledge of Claims Department procedures and operations.
