In 1927, a man named Herman Wittwer founded a company in Madison, Wisconsin that would become American Family Insurance with just three employees and 346 charter member policyholders. Today, we’re a FORTUNE 500® company with a team of 4,000 agents and over 8,100 employees. We sell insurance and financial service products in eighteen states stretching from the Pacific Northwest to Ohio.
